Risk & Control Specialist

Risk is an independent second-line function within the Zurich Insurance Group. The Risk function provides proactive and constructive challenges to enhance transparency on risk-reward trade-offs facilitating risk-informed decision-making.

As the Risk & Control Specialist for Zurich Portugal, you will:

• Support the organization in the pursuit of its objectives while protecting capital, results and reputation, through the adequate risk management, in line with risk appetite.
• Support the organization to use technology safely and responsibly, ensuring that IT-related risks are understood, controlled, and do not hinder business goals.
• Ensure alignment between organizational objectives, risk and internal controls.
• Oversee the implementation and operation of the internal control framework.
• Support enterprise risk management initiatives.
• Provide guidance, insights and risk advice on projects and initiatives in assigned area.
• Promote awareness and a risk culture across the organization.
• Lead cross-functional improvement projects in governance and compliance.

Qualifications and required profile:

• Strong background in risk management and internal controls.
• Proven track record in control testing and governance framework.
• Experience in IFRS17and IT risk or technology governance is a plus.
• Excellent communication and project and stakeholder management skills.
• Analytical mindset and proactive and solution driven.

• Fluent in English and Portuguese is a requirement spoken and written.
