The opportunity

Do you have a background in exposure management? Are you proactive in thinking about and driving change? If so, we would love to hear from you! An exciting opportunity to take on this role in the Technical Underwriting team.

 

As the Exposure Management Technical Manager, you'll be managing a team of 2/3 jointly leading the UK approach to exposure management across all lines of business enabling the UK branch to understand exposures and proactively manage them within our risk appetite 

 

This role would be ideal for someone with a technical background in exposure management with experience of leading a team and driving through change.

What will you be doing?

 

  • Jointly leading the UK approach to exposure management across all lines of business enabling the UK branch to understand exposures and proactively manage them within our risk appetite.
  • Provide data analysis insight/direction to all MFU’s on exposure management. Proactive approach to provide granular reporting to the MFU’s in the UK on hotspot areas and opportunities.
  • Create/manage tools locally with the data analysts to manage the UK exposures.
  • Leads RDS processes and the development of scenarios to ensure that potential Zurich exposures to systemic risks are understood. Proactive sharing of insights and collaboration on underwriting action to allow us to remain in Risk Appetite.
  • Manage a team of exposure management consultants and data analysts to maximize underwriting data quality, support the MFUs and achieve business goals in relation to exposure management.
  • Leads proactive review of upcoming weather events and other external events across all lines of business to help identify potential Zurich exposures and aggregation linking into the business to communicate appropriately.
  • Leads proactive management, assurance and ownership of exposure data quality to ensure that the underwriting business operates in accordance with established rules and frameworks and is maintained to agreed standards.
  • Ensures business compliance with regulatory compliance e.g. ELTO
  • Lead, Plan and carry out regular exposure management quality reviews in order to identify, assess and take action to mitigate risks.

 

 What are we looking for?

 

  • Experience in exposure management or cat modelling.
  • People manager experience.
  • Ability to adapt quickly in situations.
  • Proactivity in driving change.
