The opportunity:  

 

We’re looking for an Underwriting Auditor to support the delivery of our underwriting assurance plan for Delegated Authority Arrangements (DAs) and Managing General Agents (MGAs) across the UK. This role will require an element of business travel. 

 

What you’ll be doing 

 

DAs and MGAs continue be a growth area in Zurich’s future strategy. You’ll be responsible for completing our Delegated Program Reviews (DPRs) and Spot Checks for DAs and MGAs by using data (where possible) to highlight any issues such as adherence to the underwriting rules, data submissions. You’ll also check any local operational and compliance and regulatory requirements are being met. Reviews may be undertaken on-site (Brokers offices) or remotely. 

 

You’ll produce a report with key insights into the arrangement; it will include any findings and actions for improvement. You’ll work with internal stakeholders such as DA Owners, Relationship Managers, Underwriting Leads to review and agree the findings and proposed actions as well as the broker or MGA.  

 

You’ll help Zurich ensure that its partners (DAs and MGAs) meet all requirements, perform well, and continuously improve, supporting Zurich’s strategy for growth and customer service.

Your key responsibilities include: 

 

  • Supporting the delivery of the UK’s Underwriting Assurance Plan  

  • Ensuring that all underwriting controls are in place and operating effectively 

  • That appropriate operational, and regulatory controls are in place to manage the arrangement 

  • Identifying any potential harm to our customers and exploring solutions through findings and actions 

  • Working with various sources of data to produce meaningful insights and analytics monthly. 

  • Working closely with other departments across Zurich UK, such as Legal, Marketing and Compliance, to determine that all appropriate controls are in place throughout the lifecycle of the DA 

  • Working closely with subject matter experts such as Supplier Governance, Legal, Compliance, Distribution, etc, to determine that all broker/MGAs display appropriate behaviours to manage a DA 

  • Working with external partners (Brokers) 

 

What are we looking for? 

 

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills - this role involves a high level of engagement with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders across multiple functions 

  • Confidence to question and challenge existing ways of working 

  • An interest in governance and doing the right thing 

  • Proactivity and the ability to manage and prioritise your own workloads 

  • Working with various sources of data to produce meaningful insights and analytics monthly. 

  • Ability to produce accurate and timely underwriting assurance review reports 

  • An understanding of Delegated Authorities would be beneficial but is not essential
