Senior Underwriter (m/f/d)

As part of a small, agile team you will collaborate across multiple markets to develop tailored life protection solutions for our customers. Main Responsibilities
- Apply underwriting policies and procedures consistently to deliver accurate and timely case assessments
- Support the development and continuous improvement of underwriting standards, controls and operating practices through feedback and collaboration
- Complete underwriting assignments adhering to best practices and within agreed authority limits, measuring exposure and analysing risk to maintain underwriting quality
- Collaborate with Group Life Reinsurance and Underwriting teams on complex cases
- Follow and support quality procedures to ensure compliance with underwriting and reinsurance
- Monitor competitor underwriting practices and advise executive management as needed
- Provide input into product development when relevant to ensure underwriting considerations are well incorporated
- Develop strong relationships with key distributors, promoting the Zurich brand and supporting the acquisition of profitable new business
Skills and Experience
- Fluent in English is mandatory; additional languages are an asset
- 5+ years of experience in life underwriting or a related field
- Understanding of life underwriting processes, principles, and assurance
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Accuracy, attention to detail, and effective measurement abilities
- Customer-focused approach with the ability to build constructive working relationships internally and externally
- Computer literate, including knowledge of Microsoft Office packages (e.g. MS Word and MS Excel)
- Ability to manage workload effectively, work to deadlines and adapt to changing priorities
- A collaborative mindset and a constructive approach to problem-solving and learning
