Reporting to the Head of Bahrain office at Zurich Insurance Company Limited, the International Customer Service Specialist is expected to provide underwriting guidance and support to clients, stakeholders and external channels in the correct interpretation & application of country/regional underwriting practices and procedures.

 

This role will be based in Zurich Insurance Company - Kingdom of Bahrain.

 

Job Accountabilities

 

As International Customer Service Specialist, your role will involve: 

 

  • Acts as the local contact person for the worldwide network. Work in close association with Service Specialists & Underwriters to deliver according to the customer’s expectations.
  • Acts as a communication channel between the producing country and partner country, including partner relationship management and due diligence where applicable.
  • Provides strong technical guidance and support relative to local Underwriting philosophy and strategy.
  • Facilitate and administers international received policies within expected quality & timeline requirements.
  • Receives claims information, manages data entry and coordinates among all relevant parties as per the assigned process/claims protocol. Maintains, manages and controls Policy, Premium, and Claims data in global administration tools and ensures data quality
  • Participates in LEAN initiatives such as Kaizen events and continuous improvement measurements.
  • Relationship management with Zurich internal stakeholders and external network partners, to organize the issuance of local policies. Ensuring compliance with the instructions received from foreign Service Specialist and in accordance with internal and external guidelines, stipulated time frames and quality thresholds.
  • Manage and resolve issues that arise during the insurance period that are related to local coverage requirements, policy issuance, premium payment, claims flow and program reporting by collaborating with network partners and Zurich stakeholders.

 

Job Qualifications

 

To be successful in this role, you will need: 

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 2 or more years of experience in the Underwriting area.
  • Good knowledge of the insurance industry and the local/regional legal and regulatory environment.
  • Excellent operational knowledge of underwriting philosophy, techniques, national/local filing regulations and guidelines.
  • Strong negotiation, intercultural relationship-building, active listening and need analysis skills.
  • Must have verbal and written communication fluency in English, French and Arabic.
  • Bahraini Nationals are preferred.
