What’s the job?

As our Head of Compliance, North America for Zurich Cover-More, you’ll lead the implementation of Zurich Group Compliance frameworks across our U.S. and Canadian operations, ensuring alignment with global standards and local regulatory expectations. This is a strategic leadership role where you’ll shape the compliance culture, manage risk proactively, and support sustainable business growth in the travel insurance and assistance space.

 

  • You will oversee the rollout and integration of Zurich Cover-More Compliance frameworks across North America, ensuring consistency with global standards and local regulations.
  • You will lead compliance risk assessments, identifying, assessing, and managing risks through effective frameworks, training, and controls.
  • You will maintain and enhance the compliance control environment to mitigate risks across the North American business.
  • You will support the business in meeting obligations under U.S. and Canadian insurance regulations, consumer protection laws, and underwriter requirements.
  • You will design and execute the regional compliance assurance plan, ensuring robust oversight and accountability.
  • You will triage and assess compliance incidents and breaches, and oversee remediation and reporting.
  • You will advise the business on customer-facing conduct risks related to products, distribution agreements, IT, operations and marketing materials.
  • You will prepare reporting materials for local boards, governance bodies, and senior management.
  • You will stay ahead of regulatory and industry trends, translating insights into actionable guidance.
  • You will manage relationships with Legal, Risk, Audit, and other assurance functions to ensure an integrated approach to governance and risk management.

What are we looking for?

We’re seeking a seasoned compliance leader with deep expertise in regulatory frameworks and a passion for building strong governance cultures.

 

  • You will bring 10+ years of experience in financial services and regulatory compliance in North America, ideally with a strong understanding of the insurance industry.
  • You will be familiar with U.S. state and federal insurance regulations (knowledge around Canadian insurance regulations is a plus).
  • You will hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in law, business administration, economics, or a related field, with relevant professional experience.
  • You will have strong analytical skills and the ability to deliver clear, actionable reporting and insights.
  • You will have experience operating in complex, matrixed organizations and navigating challenging regulatory landscapes.
  • You will be skilled at building and managing relationships across business lines and functions.
  • You will demonstrate excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • You will bring strong advisory and consultative capabilities, with a proactive and solutions-oriented mindset.

The salary range for this role is $160,000 - $213,000. This is the range Zurich Cover-More in good faith believes is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of the posting. Base pay offered may vary depending on, but not limited to education, experience, skills, geographic location, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business needs. This range may be modified in the future. This job is also bonus eligible. No amount is considered to be wages or compensation until such amount is earned, vested, and determinable.
