Investments Management Internship - NYC (Summer 2024)


Zurich Alternative Asset Management, LLC (“ZAAM”) is currently looking for an Alternative Investments Operations Intern to join the team in Summer of 2024, of approximately 30 investment professionals, based out of New York, NY. 


ZAAM is a wholly owned subsidiary of Zurich Insurance Group.  ZAAM was established in 2006 to manage hedge funds, private equity, and real estate investments solely for Zurich affiliates worldwide.  ZAAM currently manages approximately USD 6 billion of assets. 


ZAAM is seeking at least one intern to begin in Summer 2024 for approximately three months.  (With the potential to extend the internship during the school year and/or the following summer, subject to business needs.) 


The Alternative Investments Intern will contribute to the ongoing work of the hedge fund, private equity, real estate, risk, legal, and operations teams. 


During his / her time, the Intern will work directly with each member of the ZAAM operations team. The internship will cover various operational workflows and functions for all ZAAM Asset classes. He / She will focus on up to 2 specific project work and support for that group.


You will learn:


  • High-level functional roles related to Asset Management processes and procedure
  • Alternative Asset systems, such as Yardi, Allocator, Burgiss, Dynamo, and Various Data Analysis tools
  • Sharpen skills in Excel
  • Effective communication (written and verbal)
  • Market and industry research
  • Analytical work

Basic Qualifications:


  • Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s degree
  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s program and will be enrolled in the fall of 2024
  • Two or more years of college coursework (should be a rising Junior or Senior) 
  • Be legally eligible to work in the U.S. indefinitely


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Minimum cumulative current grade point average of 3.0 (current could mean last semester GPA)
  • Top Business School
  • Quantitative/Programming background
  • Actively pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or related fields
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Familiarity with Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Previous experience in a corporate setting


Compensation for roles at Zurich varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience.  As required by local law, Zurich provides in good faith a reasonable range of compensation for roles.  For additional information about our Total Rewards, click here. Other rewards may include short term incentive bonuses and merit increases. Candidates with salary expectations outside of the range are encouraged to apply, and will be considered based on experience, skill, and education. The starting hourly rate for this position is $20.25.
