As a Squad Tech Lead within our Zx initiative, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our AI‑first engineering capabilities. Sitting at the heart of a modern product‑led environment, this role exists to lead technical strategy, uplift engineering standards, and create scalable, secure solutions that unlock meaningful customer and business outcomes. You’ll guide a talented squad of engineers, partnering closely with product and design to take ideas from exploration through to production, while helping build Zurich’s next generation of agentic AI capabilities.

This is a unique opportunity to work in a greenfield environment with the autonomy to innovate, experiment, and influence how we deliver cutting‑edge AI experiences across the organisation. Your work will have direct impact, supporting our mission to reimagine insurance and build a modern, cloud‑native ecosystem that delivers long‑term value for customers and our people.

You will also be responsible for the following:

• Leading end-to-end AI agent development from discovery through to reliable production outcomes
• Setting and uplifting AI engineering standards, practices and ways of working across squads
• Driving secure, scalable and observable AI-native solutions that perform in production
• Partnering closely with product, design and business stakeholders to solve meaningful problems
• Supporting and mentoring engineers to build capability, confidence and engineering excellence
• Championing reuse, shared platforms and frameworks to accelerate delivery and consistency

You’re someone who thrives in an environment of curiosity, experimentation, and high accountability. You enjoy solving complex problems with others, bring a thoughtful and collaborative approach to decision making, and are energised by leading teams towards meaningful outcomes.

In order to be successful, you will have the following:

• Extensive experience leading full stack engineering in cloud-native environments
• Proven hands-on experience building and running AI or agentic systems in production
• Strong capability across modern AI engineering, including orchestration, evaluation and observability
• Deep experience with DevSecOps, CI/CD and production ownership in regulated environments
• Solid cloud engineering experience, ideally across AWS and infrastructure as code
• Experience working in product-led, agile teams delivering customer-focused outcomes
