The Chapter Lead of Digital Engineering will report to the Head of Software Engineering Practice. And will be responsible for helping build up our future frontend, microservices, and cloud foundations to scale out for the rest of the organisation. This role will build the new chapter and work with our agile delivery and architecture teams on a transition roadmap.

 

The Chapter Lead is focused on providing technical expertise, steering the chapter’s capability, and “how” work is conducted. The Chapter lead builds a culture of continuous improvement and excellence; recruiting, developing, and evaluating a group of people sharing the same functional skillset, as well as ensuring professional standards are taken out into the squads.

 

In addition to being responsible for supporting their Chapter, the Chapter Lead will also be responsible for driving platform and associated solution’s strategy to ensure successful running of the platform and integration into the wider Zurich landscape .

 


Important to your success - let's grow together   

 

  • Multiple years experience in a similar role 
  • Experience in financial services or similar regulated industry (preferred)
  • Experience designing and building decoupled BFF and Domain APIs.
  • Experience designing and building decoupled user experience with modern JS frameworks like ReactJS and AngularJS.
  • Multiple years experience working as a Java Engineer
  • Strong understanding of all aspects of the systems/software development life cycle, including agile development methodologies
  • Technical knowledge of programming, system design, IT infrastructure and database concepts.
  • Experience in DevOps and CI/CD tools and techniques  
  • Experience with Domain Driver Architecture and Domain Oriented Microservices Architecture.
  • Experience of working in an Agile environment
  • Deep people management experience, including performance management and conflict management.
  • Demonstrates Servant Leadership (non-hierarchical and collaborative)
  • Solid Technical Leadership understands career paths in crafts and technical toolkits.
