As a Claims Technical Advisor – Home, you’ll play a key role in strengthening technical capability across our Consumer Home Claims team. You’ll bring clarity and confidence to complex claims decisions, ensuring we deliver consistent, high-quality outcomes for our customers when it matters most.
You’ll also help lift capability across the team by sharing your expertise, guiding decision-making, and supporting continuous improvement in how we manage claims in a fast-evolving environment.
You will also be responsible for the following:
- Manage a portfolio of complex, high value home claims from claim notification through to resolution
- Assess coverage and liability in line with policy wording, underwriting intent and claim’s philosophy
- Provide clear recommendations on claim strategy, including dispute resolution and legal considerations
- Act as a technical referral point for Claims Advisors on complex or contentious claims
- Coach and mentor team members to build technical strength and improve claims outcomes
Contribute to training, playbooks and continuous improvement initiatives across Home Claims

You are someone who brings a strong customer-first mindset, with the ability to balance empathy and sound judgement. You enjoy working collaboratively, are open to learning, and take pride in making a genuine difference in the moments that matter.
To be successful, you will have the following:
- Experience in Home and Contents claims within general insurance
- Proven ability to manage complex claims and navigate disputes
- Strong understanding of claims practices including loss assessment and settlement approaches
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, codes and vulnerable customer standards
- Experience coaching or mentoring others in a claim’s environment
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and guide decisions
