As a Forensic Accountant within our Life Claims Technical Centre of Excellence, you’ll play a key role in delivering specialist financial insight across complex and high-risk income protection claims. You’ll work at the heart of our claims function, helping ensure calculations are accurate, fair and consistent, ultimately improving outcomes for our customers.
This is an opportunity to apply your technical expertise in a role that blends deep financial analysis with coaching, innovation and continuous improvement. You’ll contribute to uplifting capability across the business while supporting the evolution of digital and AI-enabled tools that enhance how we assess claims.
You will also be responsible for the following: • Deliver specialist forensic financial assessments across complex income protection claims, including earnings and benefit calculations
• Provide expert advice and guidance to claims teams on financial assessments and policy interpretation
• Review high-risk claim calculations prior to payment to ensure accuracy and consistency
• Conduct targeted retrospective reviews to identify payment leakage and customer impacts
• Support the ongoing development and governance of AI-assisted calculation tools
• Coach and uplift the capability of Claims Consultants through technical guidance and training

You’re naturally curious and detail oriented, with a passion for getting things right and improving how things are done. You build trust quickly, communicate clearly and enjoy working collaboratively to solve complex problems and support others to succeed.
In order to be successful, you will have the following:
• Demonstrated experience in forensic accounting, financial analysis or specialist financial assessment within insurance or a similar environment
• Strong experience assessing complex financial structures such as multiple entities, trusts or self-employed income
• Experience working in a regulated environment with an understanding of claims frameworks and compliance requirements
• Proven experience contributing to reviews, remediation activities or identifying financial discrepancies
• CA or CPA qualification, or equivalent, with tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
• Advanced Excel skills and experience working with multiple financial or calculation tools
