As our Head Pricing Actuary within General Insurance, you will lead a high-performing team and play a key role in shaping pricing strategies that drive sustainable growth and underwriting performance. This is a senior leadership role where your insights will directly influence business outcomes, helping us deliver fair value to our customers while meeting our financial goals.

 

You’ll work closely with leaders across underwriting, claims and finance, translating complex data into clear, actionable recommendations. With a strong focus on innovation and continuous improvement, you’ll help embed data-driven decision making and advance our pricing capabilities as we continue our digital transformation journey.

 

You will also be responsible for the following:

 

  • Provide strategic pricing advice to optimise portfolio performance and deliver target returns
  • Lead and develop a team of actuaries and analysts, fostering technical excellence and growth
  • Oversee pricing governance, ensuring compliance with actuarial standards and regulatory requirements
  • Drive the development and continuous improvement of pricing models, tools and methodologies
  • Deliver insights and performance monitoring to support business planning and decision making
  • Identify opportunities for innovation and improved data quality to strengthen pricing outcomes

You are a confident and thoughtful leader who brings a strong commercial mindset and a passion for using data to influence outcomes. You build trust quickly, communicate clearly with stakeholders, and foster a team culture where people feel supported, challenged and inspired to perform at their best.

 

In order to be successful, you will have the following:

  • Fellowship of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia (or equivalent)
  • Extensive experience in general insurance, with a strong focus on pricing
  • Proven leadership experience managing and developing actuarial teams
  • Deep technical expertise in actuarial methodologies and statistical analysis
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
  • Experience working in complex environments with a focus on governance and risk management
