A fantastic opportunity exists to join Zurich’s Brand Marketing Corporate Affairs business as a Sustainability Lead.
You will drive the businesses’ Sustainability agenda and strategy, with science backed targets that align with the Zurich group and industry commitments. Curating your ideas into actions, you will chart the continued evolution of our Sustainability mission to drive progress both locally and globally.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Refresh and continuously maintain Sustainability strategy, action plans and targets, for climate, considering the broader business objectives and alignment to Zurich Group sustainability framework, strategy, and climate transition plan
- Support preparation of Sustainability Report as part of Annual Report (alongside colleagues from Finance), in line with mandatory Climate-related Financial Disclosures
- Influence leaders and colleagues across Zurich Australia & New Zealand (General Insurance, Life Insurance, Investments) to appropriately consider sustainability and to embed sustainability in our strategies and work plans
- Communicate sustainability information, achievements, and key metrics to various audiences, including Board, Management, global Zurich Group, colleagues and externally (e.g. in tenders). Engage with external stakeholders such as industry bodies, regulators.
Important to your success - let's grow together
- Be a subject matter expert on sustainability topics, in particular climate and nature, providing advice and constructive challenge to business leaders
- Understanding of the sustainability landscape including the Zurich targets, ICA net zero roadmap and government agenda
- Knowledge of the insurance industry including the political, regulatory, and competitive landscape
- Innovative mindset with the ability to execute plans/ initiatives
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
