As an Underwriter within our Financial Lines team, you’ll play a key role in driving sustainable growth across Australia and New Zealand. Working closely with brokers, customers, and underwriting colleagues, you’ll assess complex risks, build strong market relationships, and help deliver profitable outcomes across a diverse Financial Lines portfolio.

This is an opportunity to combine your technical expertise with commercial thinking in a business that is investing in innovation, digital capability, and market-leading customer experiences. You will also be responsible for the following:

• Managing new and renewal Financial Lines business within delegated authority levels while maintaining portfolio profitability.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with brokers, distributors, and customers to support growth and retention outcomes.
• Identifying and developing new business opportunities aligned with Zurich’s underwriting strategy.
• Providing technical underwriting expertise and guidance across Financial Lines products and coverage matters.
• Supporting underwriting capability through coaching, mentoring, and knowledge sharing within the team.
• Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and data-driven decision making across the portfolio.

You’re a commercially minded underwriting professional who enjoys building trusted relationships and finding solutions that create value for customers, brokers, and the business. You bring a collaborative approach, embrace change, and thrive in an environment where curiosity, accountability, and continuous learning are valued.

In order to be successful, you will have the following:

• Demonstrated underwriting experience across Financial Lines products such as D&O, Professional Indemnity, Management Liability, and Cyber.
• Experience developing and managing broker and distribution partnerships.
• Proven ability to grow a portfolio and execute business strategies within a complex insurance environment.
• Strong commercial and financial acumen with a sound understanding of portfolio performance.
• Experience coaching, mentoring, or developing less experienced underwriters.
• Strong knowledge of the Australian and New Zealand General Insurance market and regulatory environment.
