ZAS Accounting Associate

Zurich Agency Services (ZAS) is looking for a Senior Accounting Associate to join our team.  This position will support the ZAS team in processing all accounting transactions related to the business as well as assisting with our month end close processing. The ideal candidate will process deposits for agency Trust and Operating Accounts, assist in month end processing/verifications to include reviewing trial balance, status of Accounts, unapplied cash, deposits, Producer Reports, Broker commission reports, and policies with no transactions.

 

Our Accounting Associates are also responsible for: 

  • Research and preparation of monthly Broker Payables ACH's
  • Direct Bill Commission reconciliations via manual entry, import and download
  • Invoicing and AR follow-up on agency billed business
  • Processing company payables to remit premium payments to brokers and carriers
  • Assisting producers with questions on monthly producer statements
  • Assist with Daily transaction quality review
  • Preparation of monthly accounting and incentive reports as assigned
  • Preparing SAP Journal Entries
  • Assist with preparation and maintenance of Accounting processes and procedures
  • Prepare and post journal entries in accordance with local instructions
  • Prepare account reconciliations
  • Maintain the chart of accounts in accordance with local and Group requirements
  • Assist and support department´s initiatives

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree and no prior experience required in the Accounting or Finance area
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 2 or more years of experience in the Accounting or Finance area
     OR
  • Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and No prior experience required in the Accounting or Finance area
     

Preferred:

• Knowledge of accounting principles
• Basic general ledger transactional experience
• Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
• Technology experience with General ledger and financial reporting systems
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

The compensation indicated represents a nationwide market range and has not been adjusted for geographic differentials pertaining to the location where the position may be filled. The proposed {hourly rate or salary range} for this position is $48,600 - $79,500, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 10%
