Zurich Agency Services Commercial Broker (Specialist or Senior), Direct Markets

Are you passionate about sales and building strong customer relationships? Zurich North America is seeking an Agency Services Commercial Broker (Specialist or Senior level) to join our Direct Markets team. In this role, you’ll play a key part in soliciting and placing new and renewal business opportunities, primarily through virtual channels like phone and email.

 

What you’ll do:

  • Anticipate and communicate market and customer changes to help retain renewal accounts.
  • Use effective sales techniques to achieve agency sales goals and maximize account closures.
  • Analyze customer risk characteristics—such as exposures and loss history—to determine coverage needs.
  • Advise customers on coverage options, risk control, and policy limitations.
  • Identify the best insurance carriers to meet customer needs.
  • Prepare and refine insurance applications for carrier presentation.
  • Negotiate proposals with carriers and present alternatives to field sales or customers.
  • Respond promptly to customer inquiries about policies, billing, audits, and claims.
  • Engage internal and external resources to resolve customer concerns and ensure satisfaction.

Required Qualifications:

(Zurich Agency Services Commercial Broker Specialist Level)

  • Bachelors Degree and No prior experience required in the Insurance or Sales area
    OR
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 2 or more years of experience in the Insurance or Sales area
    AND
  • Knowledge of multi-line P and C or EB coverage and products
  • Experience with insurance financial performance indicators
  • Knowledge of carrier, wholesale, broker and E&S markets
  • Knowledge of insurance policy, forms and applications
  • P and C license

 

(Zurich Agency Services Commercial Broker Senior Level)

  • Bachelors Degree and six (6) or more years experience required in the Insurance or Sales area
    OR
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 8 or more years of experience in the Insurance or Sales area
    AND
  • Knowledge of multi-line P&C coverage and products
  • Experience with insurance financial performance indicators
  • Knowledge of carrier, wholesale, broker and E&S markets
  • Knowledge of insurance policy, forms and applications
  • The ability to be licensed in P&C

 

Preferred Qualifications:
• CISR
• CIC
• CPCU
• Associate Degree with 1 or more years of sales or insurance industry experience
• Skills of evaluating quotes for coverage, terms and conditions, and pricing differences
• Ability to manage priorities
• In-depth understanding and application of customer service techniques

Additional rewards may encompass short-term incentive bonuses and merit increases. We encourage candidates with salary expectations beyond the provided range to apply as they will be considered based on their experience, skills, and education. 

The combined salary range for this position is $53,400.00 - $105,900.00. The proposed salary range for the Specilaist is $53,400.00 - $87,500.00. This position also includes a variable component that is based on an individual's performance under the applicable sales incentive plan.
