Investment Accounting & Reporting Associate Director
Zurich Group Investment Management, Inc. (ZGIM), a part of Zurich North America, is seeking an Investment Accounting & Reporting Associate Director to join the Investment Administration and Accounting (IAA) team. The candidate selected will be located at our Parsippany, NJ office.

IAA is a global function within Zurich Investment Management, responsible for ensuring the accuracy, transparency, and governance of investment accounting, valuation, and reporting activities across the organization. We safeguard the integrity of investment data, ensure compliance with regulatory and audit requirements, and deliver insights that shape strategic portfolio and business decisions. Through this critical work, our team plays a central role in strengthening the reliability and credibility of investment information enterprise wide.

Responsibilities:
- Leading and overseeing investment subledger activities, applying deep expertise in security accounting, valuation processes, and posting logic, and ensuring accurate configuration and operation of subledger system processes
- Executing and reviewing monthly close and reporting processes, including preparation and delivery of monthly and quarterly investment reports for internal stakeholders, auditors, and business partners.
- Serving as the escalation point for complex issues, performing advanced review, interpretation of root cause analysis, and driving corrective actions
- Acting as a senior technical accounting contributor in the monthly hard-close cycle, ensuring timely, high-quality delivery of investment accounting results
- Applying strong knowledge of IFRS, US Statutory (NAIC), US GAAP, and US Tax to analyze instrument behavior, validate results, provide insights, and address audit or reporting inquiries
- Preparing, reviewing, and NAIC statutory investment schedules, ensuring accurate reporting, and compliance with evolving NAIC requirements
- Preparing, reviewing, and validating US Tax reporting data, ensuring accurate tax basis calculations, compliance with IRS rules, and high-quality production of tax schedules
- Leading cross functional improvement initiatives that strengthen reporting quality, internal controls end-to-end process effectiveness
- Driving digitalization and automation using tools such as Power BI, Power Automate, Python, and AI agents to enhance data accuracy, timeliness, and operational productivity
- Contributing to the development, enhancement, and maintenance of internal controls and quality assurance processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and risk mitigation across all investment accounting and reporting activities
- Providing technical coaching and guidance to Associates and Senior Associates to strengthen analytical capabilities, elevate reporting quality, and ensure consistent application of accounting policies and control standards across the team
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Investment Accounting or Finance with 5 or more years of experience OR
- High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 7-10+ years of experience in the Investment Accounting or Finance area AND
- Demonstrated knowledge and practical application of IFRS, US Statutory & US Tax accounting principles
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional accounting designation (CPA/CA/ACCA or equivalent)
- 2+ years of post-qualified accounting or investment accounting experience
- Public accounting experience preferred
- CFA designation
- Proficiency with SAP, BW, or other investment subledger/reporting platforms
- Demonstrated knowledge of fixed income, structured products, private debt, and alternative assets
- Proficiency in data analytics. Experienced using tools such as Excel and business intelligence platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) to support decision-making and contribute to business value.
- Advanced influencing and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to align cross functional teams and support decision making across Finance, Investment Management, and Operations.
- Demonstrated ability to coach and support Associates, fostering capability growth, technical development, and consistent application of accounting and reporting standards
- Proactive, solutions-oriented mindset, with the ability to anticipate issues, recommend improvements, and drive operational efficiency
- Ability to lead and execute work independently, managing competing priorities in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
- Demonstrated expertise in driving transformation, automation, and operational excellence initiatives within investment accounting and reporting functions.

- Strong motivation to stay current with emerging technologies, including the practical application of AI features, to drive innovation and continuous improvement
Your pay at Zurich is based on your role, location, skills, and experience. We follow local laws to ensure fair compensation. You may also be eligible for bonuses and merit increases. The pay range shown is a national average and may vary by location. The proposed salary range for this position is $94,750 - $155,125, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 15%.
