Management Solutions Group Claims Manager - Public D&O


We are currently looking for a Claims Manager to join our Management Solutions Group to work out of any of our Claims offices throughout the US.


The selected candidate will lead and direct a team of Legal Claims Professionals in low to high exposure Public Directors and Officers (D&O) Claims.  The Claims Manager is expected to coordinate the work activities of the team, and has responsibility for performance, development, and coaching of staff. The Claim Manager will also act as a technical resource for the team. This position has clear and distinct accountability for business results and is expected to manage internal and external customer relationships. The Claims Manager plays a critical role in interacting to exchange timely information with upstream claim managers and line of business underwriters as well as developing, maintaining and servicing broker and account relationships. 


Basic Qualifications: 


  • Juris Doctor and 5 or more years of Claims handling or Insurance Defense experience
  • Bachelors Degree and 6 or more years of Claims handling or Insurance Defense experience
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 8 or more years of Claims handling or Insurance Defense experience
  • Customer service experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Office
  • Experience collaborating across work groups
  • Knowledge of insurance legal statutes and procedures
  • Knowledge of the insurance industry, claims and the insurance legal and regulatory environment
  • Travel 0-20%


 Preferred Qualifications:


  • Previous leadership, coaching or mentoring experience`
  • Experience handling D&O, EPL and/or other Financial lines Claims
  • AIC, SCLA and/or CPCU designation
  • Analytical skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and adapt to a changing environment
  • Organization and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to effectively present information to LOB manager, claimants and customers
