Staff Legal Administrative Manager

Zurich is currently looking for a Staff Legal Administrative Manager. This position will coordinate and direct the efficient management of Legal Secretaries and/or other administrative employees. Supervises two or more support employees, including responsibility for interviewing and selecting new hires, conducting performance appraisals, and making salary decisions related to those positions that report to this job. Will also train and develop team members. Some data analysis is required. They will often act as a subject matter expert in legal administrative and operational processes and will be highly collaborative in working with internal business partners and peers to promote team-based work, simplification, and delivery of exceptional quality against best practice standards.

Lauderdale, Overland Park, Orlando, Lehigh Valley, Manhattan, New Orleans, Parsippany, or Philadelphia 3 days a week.

 

Additional responsibilities will include:

 

  • Staffs, trains, and develops department personnel. Establishes work procedures and standards to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the staff.
  • Examines workflow and processes as needed to promote operational excellence. Ensures seamless coverage and support for the operation.
  • Manages performance of team members, including ensuring team members comply with company policies and expectations and takes appropriate action.
  • Plans for future staffing needs.
  • Obtains data from various sources, analyzes data, and prepares reports for analysis. Prepares presentation materials.
  • Allocates work and coordinates delivery on projects to ensure that the project objectives are clearly defined and met, and business benefits are delivered.
  • Handles inquiries and resolves issues and complaints. Directs to appropriate staff as needed.
  • Builds trusted relationships with internal customers to ensure appropriate quality and service provision.
  • Prepares and approves expense reports and oversees the handling of payments and expense items.

 

Basic Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 2 or more years of experience in the Claims, Legal or Administrative area
    OR
  • Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate’s Degree and 2 or more years of experience in the Claims, Legal or Administrative area
    OR
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 4 or more years of experience in the Claims, Legal or Administrative area
    AND
  • Microsoft Office Experience
  • Experience working on a collaborative team

  • Insurance defense legal experience

Your pay at Zurich is based on your role, location, skills, and experience. We follow local laws to ensure fair compensation. You may also be eligible for bonuses and merit increases. If your expectations are above the listed range, we still encourage you to apply—your unique background matters to us. The pay range shown is a national average and may vary by location. The proposed Salary range for this position is $59,900.00 - $98,200.00, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 10%.
