As an Express Claims Handler, you’ll play a key role in supporting our customers during challenging times. You’ll be responsible for managing low complexity claims from start to finish. This includes capturing and updating accurate claims data, confirming policy coverage, and determining liability by gathering facts and applying the relevant laws.
Your focus will be on resolving claims promptly by developing effective strategies, providing regular status updates, and communicating proactively with our customers to ensure a positive, reassuring experience. You’ll also help drive our team’s success by contributing to related projects, following established procedures, and seeking guidance on complex matters to maintain high quality and consistency across the board. This role will initially be based in our West Perth office. Please note, our office will relocate to the Perth CBD from November 2025. Enjoy the benefits of hybrid working—with a mix of in-office and work-from-home flexibility.

What you’ll do:
- Manage claims end-to-end: Oversee low-complexity Workers Compensation claims from start to finish, ensuring a smooth and timely resolution.
- Confirm coverage & assess liability: Gather facts, apply relevant laws, and issue appropriate notices and correspondence for new and ongoing claims.
- Keep data accurate: Capture and update claims information in line with best practices and compliance standards.
- Follow Zurich standards: Ensure all claims activities meet Zurich’s governance requirements, policies, procedures, and relevant Workers Compensation legislation.
- Communicate proactively: Provide regular updates and support to customers, ensuring they feel informed and cared for throughout their claim.
- Coordinate medical support: Organize medical examinations and investigations to help customers return to work.
- Support your team: Assist with workload by helping colleagues with administrative tasks, updating records, and ensuring documentation is complete and accurate.
- Contribute to improvement: Participate in team projects, follow established procedures, and seek guidance when needed to maintain high quality and consistency.
Important to your success – let’s grow together
- Experience: You have managed end-to-end claims, including assessing liability, gathering information, and working towards timely resolution. Ideally, you bring 1–2 years’ experience handling Workers Compensation claims.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with relevant Workers Compensation legislation, policies, and compliance requirements is an advantage.
- Customer focus: You have a background in a customer-facing role, with a strong focus on delivering positive experiences and effective communication.
- Analytical skills: You can analyse information, interpret legislation, and make well-informed decisions.
- Professional skills: You have experience working in a professional office environment, demonstrating strong computer literacy, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
