Zurich North America is hiring an SAP ABAP Developer and this person will work out of the Schaumburg, IL North America HQ in a hybrid schedule.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Develop and enhance: Create and improve SAP ABAP applications, reports, and interfaces to meet business needs.
  • Support business processes: Ensure SAP systems run smoothly by troubleshooting, resolving issues, and implementing changes.
  • Collaborate: Work closely with business analysts, functional consultants, and other IT colleagues to translate requirements into technical solutions.
  • Maintain quality: Follow Zurich’s coding standards and best practices to deliver reliable and secure applications.
  • Optimize performance: Analyze and fine-tune existing programs for efficiency and scalability.
  • Continuous learning: Stay up to date on SAP technologies and share knowledge within the team.

 

 

Basic Qualifications:

 

 

  • Bachelors Degree and 5 or more years of experience in the Application Design and Development area OR
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 7 or more years of experience in the Application Design and Development area

 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Strong 5 or more years of experience in SAP ABAP programming (reports, module pool, enhancements, forms, interfaces)
  • Has worked on most areas in ABAP which includes Reports, Data Dictionary, ALV, BADI, BAPI, BDC’s, User exits, Enhancements, LSMW, ALE-IDOCS, Module Pools, SAP Scripts, Smartforms, Workflows, Queries, ABAP Proxies.
  • Sound knowledge of Performance tuning of ABAP reports.
  • Preparing Technical specs, Functional Specs, Unit test documents, Functional test documents, User manuals.
  • Worked extensively on following versions of SAP - SAP ECC 6.0, SAP S/4 HANA
  • Sound understanding of SAP FICO, FS-CD, FS-RI Functional module processing.
  • Experience with SAP development tools (ABAP Workbench, Eclipse, etc.)
  • Knowledge of OData, CDS views, and object-oriented ABAP is a plus
  • Hands-on knowledge of SAP BTP services (Cloud Foundry, CAP, UI5/Fiori, Integration Suite
  • Analytical mindset and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities
  • SAP certification (ABAP, BTP, or AI/ML)
  • Experience with S/4HANA and Fiori/UI5 is an advantage
  • Experience with S/4HANA migrations or greenfield implementations
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices in SAP environments

 

At Zurich, compensation for roles is influenced by a variety of factors, including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. Additional rewards may encompass short-term incentive bonuses and merit increases. We encourage candidates with salary expectations beyond the provided range to apply as they will be considered based on their experience, skills, and education.  The compensation indicated represents a nationwide market range and has not been adjusted for geographic differentials pertaining to the location where the position may be filled. The proposed salary range for this position is $94,000.00 to $154,000.00, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 10%.
