A/V Systems Engineer

Zurich North America is seeking an AV Systems Engineer, supporting development and integrations for the AV services team working from the Schaumburg, IL North America HQ.

 

This is a technical role that will support hybrid collaboration footprint including new MTR standards and boardroom support.

 

As A/V Systems Engineer, you will be expected to deliver technical expertise to ensure a best-in-class user experience for ZNA hybrid conferencing. This role will support internal efforts to reduce external spend and implement new technology:

 

  • Identify opportunities for pro-active service enhancements.
  • Work with internal and external networks teams to ensure UC technology operates as designed (both usage and monitoring). 
  • Streamline the lifecycle of A/V incidents with support from A/V Manager
  • Use technical programming skills to reduce reliance on external vendors
  • Share industry knowledge including QSC, Crestron, and other niche topics to junior team members.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Identify and develop relationships with executive support staff to provide “white glove” executive support.
  • Conduct thorough pre-event checks including equipment functionality, connectivity, and content readiness; coordinate with stakeholders to ensure all technical requirements are met ahead of time.
  • Deliver prompt, on-site resolution of AV issues during live meetings or events when needed.
  • Ensure alignment to IP networking standards.
  • Troubleshoot signal paths across HDMI, SDI, USB-C, and Dante audio networks.
  • Organize and execute firmware update strategy across multiple locations for different types of hardware.
  • Support senior systems engineer and ensure knowledge transfer and training.
  • Execute remote support via cross-functional, non-technical resources when possible.
  • Create technical job aids to facilitate knowledge transfer to team members and collaboration partners.
  • Identify system enhancements or data points to support remote troubleshooting and support.
  • Support user education and adoption as necessary.
  • Aid Site Lead with program work in backup role.
  • Replace or install basic UC hardware items (monitors, cameras, microphones, etc)
  • Program and setup complex platforms like QSC and Crestron.
  • Pursue and maintain industry certifications – CTS, MS Teams, and Hardware specific training.
  • Demonstrate professional-grade A/V work and pride in ownership of collaboration spaces.

 

Basic Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3 or more years of experience in the information technology area
    OR
  • Zurich Cybersecurity Technician Apprentice, including Associate Degree and 4 or more years of experience in the information technology area
    OR
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 5 or more years of experience in the information technology area
    AND
  • MS Office experience
  • Knowledge of information technology operations

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

We encourage candidates with salary expectations beyond the provided range to apply as they will be considered based on their experience, skills, and education. 

The compensation indicated represents a nationwide market range and has not been adjusted for geographic differentials pertaining to the location where the position may be filled. The proposed salary range for this position is $81,800.00 - $133,900.00, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 10%.
