Accumulation Management Analyst


Zurich North America is seeking an Accumulation Management Analyst (Senior or AVP Level) to deliver thought leadership and actionable insights to the business regarding natural and man-made catastrophes by using both internal and externally sourced Cat Modeling capabilities to assess catastrophe and accumulation risk.   This position can be based out of any Zurich office, with a preference of Schaumburg, IL or Omaha, NE.


Specific duties for this position include:

  • Monitoring and maintaining accumulation, catastrophe and other exposures as part of Zurich’s balanced property portfolio;
  • Working with Business units by providing insights to optimize our accumulations, including those from catastrophes;
  • Assisting in catastrophe planning, monitoring and capacity allocation;
  • Hotspot reviews and Manual Data Calls and being key contact for Stack/Clash concerns;
  • Acting as the subject matter expert on developing framework of Next Generation Underwriting and Accumulation System/Tool;
  • Researching and understanding potential future impact on accumulations of changing global conditions;
  • Representing North America business with Group Accumulation Management, Group Reinsurance and other Global functions with respects to accumulation concerns and priorities
  • Modeling specific business segments utilizing approved vendor and internally developed software models


Basic Qualifications AVP Level:


  • Bachelors Degree and 8 or more years of experience in the Underwriting area
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 10 or more years of experience in the Underwriting area


Basic Qualifications Senior Level:


  • Bachelors Degree and 6 or more years of experience in the Underwriting area
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 8 or more years of experience in the Underwriting area

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with using catastrophe models or their output
  • Strong knowledge in insurance financials and/or pricing
  • Ability to work with large amounts of data
  • CPCU
  • Strong knowledge of line/s of business and the legal and regulatory environment
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Strong listening, verbal and written communication skills
