Assistant IT Internal Auditor, Group Audit


Zurich North America is seeking an Assistant IT Internal Auditor for Group Audit to join our team located in Schaumburg, our North American headquarters. We are a fun, exciting, fast-paced, and high-performing team of audit professionals with diverse professional and cultural backgrounds and experiences. We are seeking an IT Internal Auditor with 2-3 years of professional experience gained in either information technology or internal or external audit, ideally in a financial services organization or large accounting firm.


Group Audit North America is part of the globally, fully vertically integrated Group Audit function, which reports to the Group Audit Committee. Through a variety of businesses and functions that make up Zurich North America, you will be afforded vast learning opportunities in the world of IT audit disciplines. This ranges from IT general controls (ITGC), data assurance, Cybersecurity assessments, application, infrastructure, information security, and data security.


As Assistant IT Internal Auditor, you perform audit testing including data analytics. Our audit plan is dynamic and entirely risk-based, and our team is not required to perform annual SOX/ICFR testing. You may also have the opportunity to participate in global audits and Group Audit wide initiatives and interact with leaders and team members from other countries.


Basic Qualifications:


  • Bachelors Degree and 2 or more years of experience in the Audit or Finance area OR
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 4 or more years of experience in the Audit or Finance area OR
  • Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 2 or more years of experience in the Audit or Finance area


Preferred Qualifications:


  • MBA or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science/Engineering, IT Operations, Management Information System, or equivalent
  • Experience from a Fortune 500 Company, ideally in a financial services organization, or boutique IT firm
  • Auditing or work experience in one or more of the following areas: Sourcing/ Outsourcing/Third Party Management; Cloud security and privacy; legacy platform improvements and developments; Big Data Solutions; Cyber
  • Demonstration of continuous learning on and off the job
  • Ability to work effectively remotely (if applicable)
  • International work experience
  • Strong written and verbal communications including presentation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, establish and meet deadlines
  • Negotiation skills
  • Inquisitive mindset with enthusiasm for learning something new everyday
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Exposure to data analytics software such as R, Python, or SQL a plus
