Audit Manager, Life


We are a fun, exciting, fast-paced, and high-performing team of audit professionals with diverse professional and cultural backgrounds and experiences.  We seek a highly experienced Audit Manager for Group Audit in North America who specializes in auditing Life insurance.  This person can work at our Schaumburg, IL North America Headquarters or remotely.


Group Audit is part of the globally, fully vertically integrated Audit function, which reports to the Group Audit Committee. The Audit Manager, Life, will primarily lead audits focused on North American Life, and Accident & Health operations.



Basic Qualifications:


  • Bachelors Degree and 6 or more years of experience in finance, accouting or audit (compliance, financial, operational) area OR a combination of each
  • Travel 10-25%

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Certified Internal Auditor (CIA).
  • Life insurance certification, e.g., Fellow, Life Management Institute (FLMI), or Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), or close to obtaining this.
  • Possess significant knowledge of auditing Life insurance, including Underwriting, Claims, Reinsurance, and understands related regulatory requirements. Auditing Accident & Health insurance is a plus.
  • A clear understanding of the llA Standards.
  • Understand the audit methodology required to deliver excellent audit outcomes and the skills and competencies needed to provide quality, impactful and insightful audit reports.
  • Excellent relationship management skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • International work experience.
  • You should be willing and able to travel nationally and internationally (mainly the US) approximately 10-25%.
  • Relevant Master's Degree in Insurance and Risk Management.
