Claims Administrative Manager

The candidate selected for this opportunity should be able to report into the following North American Claims offices: Schaumburg, IL.
This position is responsible for the leadership of a team of Claims Shared Services support employees in multiple locations, within Claims Administration and Operations. This leader has the responsibility for performance, development, coaching, hiring, and training of team members in alignment with ZNA talent management strategies. They will often act as a subject matter expert in claims support functions and operational processes. The leader will establish and be highly collaborative with internal business partners and peers to lead team-based work, simplification, and delivery of exceptional quality against best practice standards.
In this role you will be responsible for:
- Staff, train and develop department personnel. Establishes work procedures and standards to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the staff
- Collaborates across Claims Lines of Business for problem resolution and team based work
- Examines and simplifies workflows and processes as needed to promote operational efficiencies
- Obtains data from various sources, analyzes data, and prepares reports for analysis in order to make data driven decisions
- Acts as a technical resource for the team
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and 2 or more years of experience in the Claims, Legal or Administrative area
OR - Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 2 or more years of experience in the Claims, Legal or Administrative area
OR - High School Diploma or Equivalent and 4 or more years of experience in the Claims, Legal or Administrative area
AND - Microsoft Office Experience
- Experience working on a collaborative team
- 2 or more years management experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of claims business processes conducted by functional area
- Demonstrated support in the delivery of Zurich's performance development cycle and talent management initiatives
- Ability to anticipate and proactively address customer needs to improve experiences
- Ability to innovatively identify and implement sustainable simplification and team-based work opportunities
- Establish and maintain key business relationships, including leading collaborative meetings with various levels of management
- Possesses strong written/verbal communication skills
- Manages multiple, competing priorities
- Ability to analyze and leverage data to make business decisions
- Advanced MS office skills
At Zurich, compensation for roles is influenced by a variety of factors, including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. Additional rewards may encompass short-term incentive bonuses and merit increases. We encourage candidates with salary expectations beyond the provided range to apply as they will be considered based on their experience, skills, and education. The compensation indicated represents a nationwide market range and has not been adjusted for geographic differentials pertaining to the location where the position may be filled. The proposed salary range for this position is $64,600.00 - $72,000.00, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 10%
