Claims Vendor Management Sr Specialist - Schaumburg, IL

Zurich is currently looking for a Claims Vendor Management Sr Specialist.

 

This position may work out of one of the following North American offices:  Schaumburg, IL, with responsibility for administering contracts with the larger / more complex outside vendors in line with the Business Unit´s Claims Vendor management strategy.  Interfaces between vendors and the company and ensures the company´s requirements are met. Seeks to continually improve vendor performance and drives high quality competitively priced vendor solutions. Assists in strategies to optimize vendor service performance and cost across the Business Unit Claims organization.

 

Job Accountabilities:

• Responsible for managing and sourcing Claims vendors within the agreed authority levels. Works closely with the procurement function, is responsible for the due diligence process and negotiating new contracts.
• Responsible for the development of vendor agreements for the larger/more complex vendors and supporting the associated negotiations.
• Ensures quality and delivery of service level agreements by auditing and tracking vendors within area of responsibility.
• Tracks and reports metrics to ensure performance against the agreed service levels. Manages Claims vendor performance issues in area of responsibility.
• Participates in vendor performance reviews within area of responsibility / defined vendors and meetings with new and/or potential vendors. Drives continuous improvement in customer experience and cost savings.
• Seeks out opportunities to eliminate redundancies and leakage in the Claims organization.
• Adheres to the Global Claims Policy in the development and management of vendor agreements.
• Monitors competitor activity to help ensure we maintain a competitive advantage and manage our vendors in line with industry standards and best practices.

 

Business Accountability:


• Drives the implementation of improvement projects for vendor management to deliver defined objectives with allocated resources and timescales.
• Ensures adherence to the Claims governance and compliance process in respect of vendor usage. Monitors non-compliance issues escalated by other team members or through wider relationships. Provides advisory services to Claims colleagues by being focal point of contact.
• Analyzes key themes from vendor performance data sources in order to determine service and performance issues.
• Contributes to the development of process improvements for the Business Unit vendor management function.
• Develops and manages ongoing relationships with key stakeholders/customers and external vendors in order to keep them informed and ensure they are engaged so solutions benefit all parties.
• Tracks budgets by utilizing established financial systems. Analyzes and presents management reporting to deliver transparency of vendor performance against contracts, directing necessary actions for improvement.
• Embeds global vendor management best practice within local Business Unit, providing feedback to deliver continuous improvement across the organization.
• Engages, influences and collaborates with claims vendors and potential claims vendors to secure optimal outcomes for the organization.

 

Additional responsibilities will include:

  • May participate in customer marketing efforts.

 

Basic Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor’s Degree and 6 or more years of experience in the Vendor Management area
OR
• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 8 or more years of experience in the Vendor Management area
AND
• Experience managing external business relationships and performance

Preferred:
• Experience managing projects or teams
