Compensation Consultant
Zurich North America is seeking an experience Compensation Consultant. In this exciting opportunity you will leverage and expand your knowledge of Human Resources while providing Compensation consulting support to various business units within the organization through a variety of projects applying technical expertise and problem-solving capabilities. This includes benchmarking jobs, salary analysis and compensation program analysis to support program design recommendation and ensure our total compensation is competitive in the marketplace.
The location for this role is in our North American Headquarters in Schaumburg, IL and offers a hybrid work schedule.
This Compensation Consultant’s responsibilities are aimed at ensuring that the company’s compensation practices are competitive, fair, and aligned with the organization’s overall strategy.
In this role you will be responsible for:
- Identify and recommend solutions to compensation issues and assist internal business partners in making competitive pay decisions.
- Respond to the needs of internal stakeholders by market pricing jobs in a timely manner, identifying best survey sources, and providing relevant recommendations based on analysis and within our flexible framework.
- Plan and program management for compensation, conducting market research and monitoring compensation trends.
- Support the implementation and administration of equity plans across the organization including plan restatement, benchmarking, buyout calculations, communications, and account maintenance.
- Manage projects, analyze issues and provide recommendations to address various compensation challenges identified by the team or management.
- Provide status updates by developing work plans and updating team members and stakeholders on changing compensation issues.
- Analyze legislative changes and make recommendations to the management team for appropriate change.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree and 6 or more years of progressive experience in compensation, Total Rewards, or other HR disciplines
OR - High School Diploma or Equivalent and 8 or more years of progressive experience in compensation, Total Rewards, or other HR disciplines
OR - Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 6 or more years of progressive experience in compensation, Total Rewards, or other HR disciplines
AND
- Experience managing and analyzing large amounts of data using Excel and developing PowerPoint presentations to share insights with stakeholders
- Experience with HRIS; SAP and/or SuccessFactors
Preferred Qualifications:
- PHR or SPHR
- CCP or coursework toward CCP, including Quantitative Methods
- Intermediate to Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Equity plan administration
- Sales incentive plan development and administration

The compensation indicated represents a nationwide market range and has not been adjusted for geographic differentials pertaining to the location where the position may be filled. The proposed salary range for this position is $94,100.00 - $154,000.00, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 15%.
