Corporate Strategy Internship (Summer 2023)

Zurich North America (ZNA) is looking for an intern to join its Corporate Strategy team in Schaumburg, Illinois for the summer of 2023. As a Corporate Strategy Intern, you will support the development and execution of ZNA’s strategic and operational agenda.

 

The interns will each have a primary summer project based on business needs. Previous projects have included: Strategic Plan support, Innovation Communications: Building Zurich North America’s brand as an innovative company, and External Innovation: future-focused industry research to identify key risks/innovations that will impact the insurance industry to support the prioritization of our external pipeline.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Performing basic data analysis/modeling
  • Presenting analysis results to colleagues and business partners. Some projects Interns may work on our Strategic Plan support, Innovation Communications, Building the ZNA brand as an innovative company, and External Innovation
  • Developing competitive intelligence insights
  • Creating strategic communications
  • Researching, synthesizing and communicating market trends

 

You will learn:

  • Develop skills to effectively story tell with information provided
  • Sharpen skills in PowerPoint for executive-level presentations
  • Problem structuring and analysis
  • Effective communication (written and verbal)
  • Understanding of Commercial P&C industry
  • Time management

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Two or more years of college coursework (should be a rising Junior or Senior)
  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s program and will be enrolled in the fall of 2023
  • Be legally eligible to work in the U.S indefinitely   
  • Microsoft Office experience

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Finance, Economics, or related business / analytical field
  • Minimum cumulative current grade point average of 3.0 (current could mean last semester GPA)
  • Ability to research and socialize findings in a meaningful way
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Familiarity with Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Previous experience in a corporate setting
