Head of Portfolio Optimization
Zurich North America is hiring an experienced Head of Portfolio Optimization to join our Specialties Team in our Schaumburg office. We are open to hiring talent located within a commutable distance to any ZNA office location to benefit from our flexible, hybrid working arrangements. We are also open to hiring talent on a fully-remote basis based on discretion of the hiring manager.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Develop budgetary plans and monitor and control expenditure to optimize business performance within budgetary constraints.
- Lead and direct the project planning effort and lead the implementation of complex projects, typically as part of a major change or business improvement initiative involving multi-disciplinary teams and timescales in excess of one year to ensure they delivery business benefits.
- Responsible for project risk management and establishing effective controls to ensure that the business is not exposed to any undue risk.
- Track and evaluate key project metrics, issues and risks and provide commentary, analysis and recommendations based upon these to improve business performance in the medium and long term.
- Develop processes and review policies relevant to project management in order to ensure they are in line with strategic business objectives.
- Manage relationships with key internal stakeholders in order to identify opportunities for service improvement to ensure commercial viability and customer satisfaction.
- Provide updates in meetings to provide specialist guidance and enable the implementation of project initiatives.
- Coordinate the operational delivery of Global/ cross segment or functional projects to ensure that the project objectives are clearly met and support the organization´s strategy..
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree and 10 or more years of experience in the Strategic Planning area
AND - 7 or more years in management consulting or corporate strategy / internal consulting
- 5 or more years of Project Manager level experience in managing multiple teams at a given time within management consulting
- Experience in building strategic agenda for medium to large organizations or Business Units
- Experience in working closely with CEOs to identify and solve issue of highest importance to the organizations and CEO agenda
- Experience in building people capabilities in a professional services environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA
- P&C Insurance, Financial Services experience
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Strong communication/presentation skills
- Ability to work in an ambiguous, dynamic, and often fast-paced environment
- Advanced spreadsheet/database skills
- Ability to lead cross-functional/business projects
- People management experience

The compensation indicated represents a nationwide market range and has not been adjusted for geographic differentials pertaining to the location where the position may be filled. The proposed salary range for this position is $149,500.00 - $244,900.00, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 25%.
