Head of Underwriting Quality

Zurich North America is hiring an experienced Head of Underwriting Quality to join our Specialties Team in our Schaumburg office. We are open to hiring talent located within a commutable distance to any ZNA office location to benefit from our flexible, hybrid working arrangements. We are also open to hiring talent on a fully-remote basis based on discretion of the hiring manager.

 

In this role, you will be responsible for:

 

  • Manages, trains, and coaches Regional TUR managers and develops and maintains training materials for use across GI.
  • Participates in and leads reviews, where appropriate, including the design and delivery of global themes.
  • Leads the quality assurance framework to assure that underwriting business operates in accordance with agreed rules and policies.
  • Owns the global TUR networks including GTURN.
  • Provides consultative support on TUR and Underwriting assurance processes and practices including direct quality assurance on Global TUR reports.
  • Provides guidance to lower level associates and proactively supports the development of self and others.
  • Performs analysis of quality outcomes.
  • Operates across the TZW Underwriting Excellence team to fully support the delivery of the team objectives.

 

Basic Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelors Degree and 10 or more years of experience in the Underwriting area
    AND
  • People management Experience
  • Experience with insurance audit, governance and controls

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Advanced experience of underwriting principles and regulations
  • Advanced analytical, reporting and problem solving skills
  • Strong Verbal and written communication skills
  • CPCU
  • Portfolio Management

 

 

At Zurich, compensation for roles is influenced by a variety of factors, including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. Additional rewards may encompass short-term incentive bonuses and merit increases. We encourage candidates with salary expectations beyond the provided range to apply as they will be considered based on their experience, skills, and education. The compensation indicated represents a nationwide market range and has not been adjusted for geographic differentials pertaining to the location where the position may be filled. The proposed salary range for this position is $197,800.00 - $324,000.00, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 25%.
