Information Technology Test Automation Internship (Summer 2022)


Zurich is currently looking for an Test Automation Intern for Summer 2022, to support our North America Operations & Technology / Information Technology / Quality Assurance (QA) Testing Services Team.


This intern will work under immediate supervision and perform requested tasks alongside professionals who perform these roles. Generally, this position is part of a summer program with an assigned mentor. 


Primary assignments you will work on include:


  • Hands on testing automation activities, including development of code for test automation scripts, as well as running existing test automation scripts for expected results
  • Driving activities within testing process end to end for given product(s)
  • Contributing to Test Automation Strategy development on specific product(s)


You will learn:

  • Technical/coding skills using test automation tools
  • Analytical and problem solving skills, debugging and resolving issues
  • Quality Assurance (QA) testing processes
  • Collaboration across IT, partnering with leads, business analysts, developers, testers, etc.
  • Stakeholder communication and management
  • Use of collaborative tools
  • Time management

Basic Qualifications:

  • Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s degree (preferred major in Computer Science, Information Technology and/or Engineering)
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s program and will be enrolled in the fall of 2022
  • Two or more years of college coursework (should be a rising Junior or Senior) and no prior years of experience required in the Administrative area
  • Be legally eligible to work in the U.S indefinitely   


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong technical programming skills with scripting languages such as Java, Python, VB, etc.
  • Problem solving skills in customer focused environment 
  • Quick learner, self-organizing and able to work independently
  • Intermediate Excel skills (Vlookup/pivot tables, formulas, macros, etc.)
  • Intermediate Microsoft SharePoint skills
  • Intermediate Microsoft PowerPoint skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills 
  • Nice to have: Test automation knowledge (e.g., Cucumber framework, SpecFlow, SpecRun, Postman, RestAssured, Test Driven- Development (TDD), Behavior Driven-Development (BDD), Acceptance Test Driven-Development (ATDD)
  • Minimum cumulative current grade point average of 3.0 (current could mean last semester GPA)
