Operations Consultant - Property Claims


Zurich is currently seeking an Operations Consultant to join the Property Claims Technical Review team.  As part of the Property Claims organization, this is a unique internal consultative opportunity to leverage your strong analytics and reporting skills in business process improvement and change management initiatives.  This role partners with a variety of cross functional stakeholders to coordinate, evaluate, develop and implement operational, administrative and technical programs and procedures.


At Zurich North America (ZNA), the Property Claims organization is dedicated to helping our customers mitigate commercial property and business losses resulting from a variety of circumstances such as weather events, theft, water or flood damages, vandalism, and business income loss. Our purpose is to get our customers back on their feet and operational as quickly as possible. 


As part of the Technical Review team, you will collaborate with the Property Claims organization to drive innovation, simplification and efficient technical claims handling processes for activities such as claim file audits, compliance, new property business programs, productivity reporting, risk insights and vendor utilization.  You will identify and lead business initiatives as well as make recommendations that simplify and innovate, leading to increased technical claims handling performance for the Property organization and its customers. You will participate in training of new hires, supporting partners in reinspection, claim cycle time studies, and reserving accuracy.

This position will be located in Schaumburg.


Occasional business travel may be needed.



Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 6 or more years of experience in the Claims area
  • Zurich approved Apprenticeship program including an Associate Degree and 6 or more years of experience in the Claims area
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 8 or more years of experience in the Claims area
  • 6 or more years of administrative and/or operational experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with Business Intelligence/CDW or similar data system(s)
  • Project management experiences


Preferred Qualifications: 

  • 4 or more years of experience in an operations/operational environment
  • Technical claims handling experience and/or knowledge of commercial property losses
  • Experience building data bases in Sharepoint or other platform
  • Analytical skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to provide expertise and provide guidance to team members and business partners
  • Ability to interact with multiple levels of management
