Reinsurance Claims Associate

Zurich North America is hiring a Reinsurance Claims Associate to join our team! We are open to hiring talent in the following location: Schaumburg, IL.

Responsible for analyzing reinsurance claims and contracts of varying complexity and all lines of business to identify applicable reinsurance coverage and contractual notice requirements; manages the reinsurance notification and inquiry responses of reinsured claims.

Analyze reinsurance contracts and claims for reinsurance notification purposes. Identify and code reinsurance. Collaborate with claim handlers and the Business Units to prepare reinsurance notifications for reinsurers and brokers. Provide support in updating reinsurance notification and inquiry systems and electronic databases. Respond to and manages reinsurance inquiries within department standards. Ensure prompt and accurate response to reinsurance inquiries in order expedite collection of reinsurance recoverable. Proactively identify reinsurance notification issues, coordinate resolution, and take appropriate corrective action. Coordinate, review, or monitor outsourced reinsurance claim notification and/or inquiry processes. Assist in the monthly and quarterly review of the work performed by the team. Propose department metrics for the tasks performed by the team.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree and 1 or more years of experience in the Insurance area
  OR
• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 3 or more years of experience in the Insurance area
  OR
• Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 1 or more years of experience in the Insurance area

Preferred Qualifications:
 

• Knowledge of reinsurance
• Microsoft Office experience
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Your pay at Zurich is based on your role, location, skills, and experience. We follow local laws to ensure fair compensation. You may also be eligible for bonuses and merit increases. The proposed Salary range for this position is $60,000.00 - $98,200.00, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 10%.
