Senior Actuarial Analyst or Actuary
Enjoy learning new technology? Interested in large account pricing? The Pricing Landscape team is rebuilding ZLAPS (Zurich Large Account Pricing System) in a technology (Tyche) that is new to Zurich and needs your help. ZLAPS was built over 20 years ago, so this is a once-in-a-career opportunity to improve the largest pricing tool in ZNA. No experience in Tyche required – just a desire to problem solve to develop the best tool possible.
The position supports Pricing Landscape, a function that reports to the Chief Pricing Actuary. The team oversees the pricing tools landscape with the goal to simplify, enhance and integrate the overall landscape, leveraging the PolicyCenter roadmap where possible as well as new technology where suitable. The objective is to create tools that are intuitive to underwriters and enable solid underwriting decisions.
Responsibilities for the role include:
- Support the transformation of ZLAPS (Zurich Large Account Pricing System) to a new, modernized platform (ZAPS). This includes determining methodologies based on feedback from BU actuaries and UW’s, documenting requirements and testing.
- Support the current users of ZLAPS and ZAPS. This includes reviewing issues as needed and advising on potential methodology changes.
- Supporting the RTAD (risk transfer) tool, used by transactional actuaries across Zurich for captive programs.
- Working with LOB (WC, GL, Auto) teams to ensure tool outputs align with portfolio estimates.
- Support other Pricing tool transformations as needed.
This role will be filled at either the Senior Actuarial Analyst or Actuary level. The hiring manager will determine the appropriate level based upon the selected applicant’s experience and skill set relative to the qualifications listed for this position.
