*Specialty Architect I Guidewire
Zurich (Schaumburg, IL) seeks a Specialty Architect I Guidewire to develop Guidewire software applications solutions for all or part of an assigned project(s) working with vendors and the enterprise architecture community. Specific duties include: lead the evaluation and delivery of new Guidewire application technologies, functionality, and approaches to determine the usefulness and applicability to the organization in conjunction with existing IT organization strategies; provide Guidewire design recommendations, based on long-term IT organization strategy; demonstrate knowledge of Guidewire within a domain of expertise (policy, claim, etc.) on relevant systems, technologies, products, processes and procedures and provides solution design services referring the more complex professional queries to the right department or enterprise architect; determine specifications, plans, designs, and develops complex and business critical Guidewire software solutions, utilizing appropriate software engineering processes, either individually or in concert with project team; meet scheduled Milestones to ensure project/program objectives are met in a timely manner; maintain an in-depth knowledge of the principles, theories, practices and techniques for managing the activities related to planning, managing and implementing systems analysis and application development projects and programs. Option to work remotely 40% of the time.
Position requires a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field of study, plus 6 years of experience in the job offered, or as a Manager, Team Lead, Senior Software Engineer, Software Engineer, Associate Consultant, Consultant, or similar position in application design/development using Guidewire Insurance Suit products. Must have 6 years of experience with each of the following: developing solutions in the insurance industry; leading the evaluation and delivery of new Guidewire application technologies, functionality, and approaches; providing Guidewire design recommendations; determining specifications, plans, designs, and developing complex Guidewire software solutions; meeting scheduled milestones to ensure project/program objectives are met in a timely manner; and planning, managing and implementing systems analysis and application development projects and programs. Option to work remotely 40% of the time.
