Zurich North America is hiring a Statistical Analyst to join our team! We are open to hiring talent in our Schaumburg location.

 

Purpose:

 

Participates in complex financial and regulatory data flows and leads projects of intermediate complexity with minimal guidance and direction from management

 

Key Accountabilities:

 

  • Assists with the coordination and lead of activities with business owners to gather requirements, maintain critical data, monitors business decisions and manages documentation and communication
  • With management guidance, describes as-is/to-be models as part of the requirements elicitation process, i.e. process, data, work flow, application etc.
  • Assists with the understanding of customers' objectives, processes, products and services in order to make educated recommendations and complete accurate and timely financial entries
  • Assists with the creation/maintenance of business requirements in order to determine the completeness of the information and process components
  • Assists in the evaluation of project impact through consultation with the business, regulatory, Information Technology management, development, quality assurance, validation and training teams
  • Assists with obtaining feedback and manages change process while implementing the project plan(s)
  • With minimal direction, uses data query tools to perform data analysis, profiling and validation
  • With minimal direction, performs quality review checks on complex data sets and/or project deliverables
  • With minimal direction, supports development of test plan, testing, implementation and training activities with minimal direction, supports post-implementation activities including problem solving and measurement of benefits achieved. In case expected benefits not achieved, supports the analysis to determine root cause.
  • Communicates effectively through different mediums at lower levels. With minimal direction, supports integration testing including the functionality, performance and fit to ensure original requirements are met, assists quality assurance with the creation and execution of acceptance testing as needed
  • Works with various partners to analyze and document impact of proposed technology to existing architecture and communicate any potential risks
  • Assists with selection of appropriate processes required to meet the project objectives Assists with establishing and maintaining appropriate communication and engagement with stakeholders Complies with requirements to meet stakeholder needs and expectations
  • Assists to balance the competing constraints of business need, services, technology, and quality to produce the specified product, service or result with minimal change requests required
  • Records and reports core metrics and status in a timely manner
  • Business Travel, as required
  • Extended Hours during Peak Periods/Shift Work, as required
  • Regular Predictable Attendance
  • Visibility in the Office, as required

 

Basic Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelors Degree and 5 or more years of experience in the Business Analysis area
    OR
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 7 or more years of experience in the Business Analysis area
    AND
  • Experience in mainframe and PC environments
  • Experience in insurance operations and regulatory environment
  • Microsoft Office Excel, Access and Word experience
  • Business Systems Integration

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • SQL and VBA programming experience
  • Commercial insurance experience
  • Strong analytical and planning skills
  • Ability to effectively manage changing priorities
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Experience with change management tools/methodologies
  • In-depth experience with testing scenarios execution
  • Experience leading teams of project consultants

 

At Zurich, compensation for roles is influenced by a variety of factors, including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. Additional rewards may encompass short-term incentive bonuses and merit increases. We encourage candidates with salary expectations beyond the provided range to apply as they will be considered based on their experience, skills, and education. 

The compensation indicated represents a nationwide market range and has not been adjusted for geographic differentials pertaining to the location where the position may be filled. The proposed salary range for this position is $64,600.00 - $105,900.00, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 10%.
