Underwriting Quality Specialist I
Zurich North America (ZNA) is hiring an Underwriting Quality Specialist I to join our Zurich E&S team! The Quality Analyst is a new position reporting to the Head of Product Management, E&S that will support the implementation and ongoing administration of Zurich E&S’ Underwriting Quality Assurance program. The role can be based at one of the primary office locations of the E&S business unit: Schaumburg, IL, New York, NY or Atlanta, GA and the position will provide you the flexibility to work on a hybrid basis. You will partner with your manager to set a flexible work schedule that supports you and our E&S team members.

Our Underwriting Quality Specialist will be responsible for:
- Providing assurance that the underwriting business operates effectively, and in accordance with agreed rules and frameworks.
- Leading quality support activities including creating maintaining quality surveys, supporting quality reviews and audits.
- Contributing to the on-going development, implementation, and maintenance of governance tools and quality control processes.
- Tracking and following up on actions items from audits, driving accountability and timely resolution.
- Compiling and reporting quality results, extracting and updating authority violation reports and conducting ad hoc reporting.
- Analyzing quality trends and recommending actions.
- Maintaining and continuously improving quality procedures to drive operational excellence.
- Collaborating with Market Facing and Technical Underwriting using local knowledge and expertise.
- Participating in quality reviews and audits, where appropriate.
- Contributing to business compliance with regulatory compliance.
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree and 2 or more years of experience in the Quality Assurance area
OR - High School Diploma or Equivalent and 4 or more years of experience in the Quality Assurance area
AND - Knowledge of underwriting philosophy and techniques, risk selection, rating, and pricing concepts
- Knowledge of underwriting procedures, and policy terms and conditions
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong analytical, reporting, and problem-solving skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Property and casualty insurance experience in underwriting and/or operations

The compensation indicated represents a nationwide market range and has not been adjusted for geographic differentials pertaining to the location where the position may be filled. The proposed salary range for this position is $48,600.00 - $79,500.00, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 10%.
