Casualty Underwriter

SUMMARY:

We are looking for a qualified Senior Underwriter with 10 years working experience in local produce business including local risk and international risk with underwriting or commercial broker background. 

KEY TASKS & ACCOUNTABILITIES

1.    Actively directly handle the business from external broker and agent, to deliver the various financial KPI
2.    Independent ability on market facing activities to engaged in the daily business transaction and binding case.
3.    Build the close relationship with broker/agent. 
4.    Coordinate activities with higher level underwriting staff and with support staff to assure valid and timely response to producers of quotations and production of policies, endorsements, certificates, renewal notices, and other administrative requirements. 
5.    Communicate and liaise internally and externally in a professional and effective manner.
6.    Pro-actively work in tandem with marketing staff and underwriters in other departments.
7.    Develop and maintain agency and broker relationship.
8.    Interface with key external clients to ensure service standard. 
9.    Assist Line manager to maintain compliance with all legal, statutory and other regulatory requirements. 
10.    Other ad-hoc assignment by Line managers

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
1.    10 years of experience in the underwriting or market facing area in insurance sector. 
2.    Possess a high level of customer service by meeting or exceeding broker and or customer expectations with respect to required deadlines
3.    Good marketing sense and strong initiative 
4.    Relationship management and marketing promotions.
5.    Good command of English in both writing and oral.
