The Opportunity

 

We are seeking a Compliance Lead to join our Compliance team. As a Compliance Lead, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our organization adheres to all relevant laws, regulations and internal policies. You will work closely with various departments to implement compliance programs, conduct assurance activities, and provide advisory on compliance matters. The Compliance team is dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of compliance and ethical conduct within our business unit. Reporting to the Head of Compliance Singapore, you will also serve as a key point of contact for managing and coordinating compliance-related initiatives, projects, training, and communications with stakeholders. Your role will be instrumental in fostering a compliance culture across the organization.

 

Your Role

The primary responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain an effective compliance framework, policies, and procedures.
  • Conduct regular compliance risk assessments and assurance activities to identify areas of non-compliance and implement corrective actions as necessary, ensuring consistency and alignment with Group policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and assess regulatory changes and communicate their impact to relevant stakeholders.
  • Provide advisory, guidance and training to employees on compliance-related matters.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to address compliance issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Prepare and submit regulatory reports and filings as required.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for regulatory authorities and industry associations.
  • Support Data Governance, Risk and Audit control tasks as needed.
  • Manage and coordinate compliance-related projects from inception to completion, including holding regular alignment meetings with project stakeholders.
  • Drive compliance-related innovation and automation activities.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to other members of the Compliance team.
  • Stay up to date with industry best practices and emerging trends in compliance.

 

Your Skills and Experience

Your skills and qualifications should ideally include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Law, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum 6 or more years of experience in a compliance role within a corporate environment.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing compliance programs and policies.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant local laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Experience with conducting compliance assessments and assurance activities.
  • Sound understanding of risk management principles and practices.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Highly self-motivated with a strong sense of accountability and attention to detail.
  • Capable of quickly adapting to new methodologies and working towards deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of integrity and ethical standard.
  • Proficiency in using compliance management software and tools.
  • Familiarity with digital technologies and their applications in compliance processes is a plus.
