Data Analytics & Insights Manager, Commercial Insurance (CI) Asia
Purpose: Lead and own the use of data and insights to set and monitor strategies, initiatives and day to day performance metrics to drive better business outcomes as well as champion a data driven culture within the organization.
Key Accountabilities
- Active monitoring of all underwriting and broker performance data, including monthly tracking of submissions, quotes, binds, lost accounts and broker growth. The data should be used to develop useful insights and drive meaningful actions with Customer Distribution Management (CDM) and Underwriting (UW) team to produce improved renewal retention and new business outcomes.
- Active monitoring and engagement with respect to Broker Statement of Work and Rank data, Pipeline and related opportunities. The data should be used to develop useful insights and drive meaningful actions with CDM and UW team to produce improved renewal retention and new business outcomes.
- Drive data accuracy and quality in linked systems:
- Obtain CDM and UW teams input and maintain timely updates in the system including sales pipelines, status changes and comprehensive documentation of lost accounts.
- Manage and collate bulk updates in the system including facilities, lineslips, tiering etc.
- Interrogate data, highlight discrepancies and drive accuracy across all data underwriting and pricing platforms.
- Design, build and manage reporting tools and dashboards for critical UW performance metrics (Channel, Line of Business, Country, Industry, Customer Segment and others).
- Partner with the broader data and analytics focused teams and systems to compile, connect, link and improve data insights across the business:
- Tools and internal systems include Global Pricing Platform (GPP), Neo, Insights360, Portfolio360, Portfolio Copilot, Commercial Insurance Data Lake and others.
- Local functions include Operations, Data Analytics, Pricing, Reserving, UW & CDM team.
- Global functions include Commercial Insurance Group Transformation and Operations.
- Assist Line of Business (LoB) with any rollout of new Global tools.
- Collaborate with brokers to:
- Validate and interpret the data they provide, ensuring its accuracy and relevance for driving informed business decisions.
- Link broker systems to Zurich to streamline broker pipelines and processes.
- Leverage own knowledge of broad economic trends, market forces and competitor dynamics to inform and influence the priority areas that our business should be focused on.
- Utilize all industries, countries and other data insights to analyze, recommend and drive actions arising to determine, track and impact the successful execution of business strategies.
- Develop innovative ways to utilize data and insights to drive better business outcomes and support key underwriting and distribution strategies.
- Champion and develop data capabilities in Commercial Insurance Asia:
- Staff training and support on all dashboards and reports to drive a data driven business culture.
- Build the teams’ best practice thinking in measurement and tracking and execute initiatives to promote this across business units.
- Act as the link between Asia and Group on CDM/Commercial Insurance Lead Data and Analytics projects and deliverables.
- Assist with ad hoc day-to-day activities of CDM as may be required.
- Undertake and deliver any additional responsibilities assigned periodically, as needed.
