Our opportunity


Zurich Insurance Group is looking for an experienced strategy leader to drive the long-term growth agenda across Asia Pacific. This individual will own the development and execution of regional strategy across a diverse portfolio of markets - spanning Life and P&C insurance segments - and will be a trusted partner to both regional and country senior executives. A defining part of this role is the ability to communicate strategy with clarity and conviction – to leaders across the region and to global colleagues in Zurich.

Your role

Strategy development & execution

  • Lead the development of Zurich's APAC strategy - market prioritisation, portfolio construction, growth initiatives - and maintain a live strategic agenda that evolves with the region.
  • Drive strategy execution across markets, working closely with country CEOs and business leaders.
  • Recruit and manage a small consulting team that can work on projects across the region.
  • Work with the Corporate development team to identify and evaluate inorganic opportunities in alignment with regional growth priorities.
  • Monitor competitive dynamics, regulatory shifts, and macroeconomic trends across APAC markets and translate these into strategic implications.

Strategy communications & stakeholder engagement

This role carries a significant communications mandate - translating complex strategy into compelling narratives for audiences ranging from the Zurich Group Board and Executive Committee to frontline market leaders.

  • Own the preparation and delivery of Board strategy materials - including regional updates and strategic reviews - ensuring clarity, coherence, and appropriate depth.
  • Serve as the primary strategic communications bridge between the region, group and markets - representing the region's priorities, surfacing material issues, and ensuring decisions are contextualised for local relevance.
  • Lead the design and delivery of senior leadership forums, strategy offsites, and regional town halls that bring the strategic agenda to life for APAC colleagues.
  • Develop communication frameworks and narratives that enable country and segment leaders to align their local agendas with the broader regional strategy.
  • Partner with the APAC CEO to prepare for external engagements and senior stakeholder conversations where strategic positioning is on the agenda.

What we're looking for

  • 12+ years of experience in strategy, with a track record of leading complex, multi-market engagements.
  • Preferred background at a top-tier management consulting firm with deep exposure to the insurance sector (Life, P&C, or both)
  • Proven ability to operate at C-suite level - both in an advisory capacity and as a direct communicator.
  • Strong communication skills – both written and verbal; a track record of producing strategy papers, investor materials, or senior executive communications.
  • Strong command of APAC market dynamics - familiarity with multiple markets in the region is essential.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead both strategy formulation and execution with a high ownership mindset.
  • Collaborative and relationship-driven — able to build trust with local leadership across very different markets.
