The Opportunity

 

Zurich is a leading global insurer in Singapore, providing innovative and reliable solutions to a diverse range of corporate clients. As the Mid Market Business Development Lead, you will drive Zurich’s growth in the mid-market segment by developing new business opportunities, deepening existing relationships, and executing targeted strategies. You will be a key member of the Customer, Distribution and Market Management team, playing a crucial role in expanding Zurich’s presence and value proposition within Singapore’s dynamic mid-market landscape.


Key Responsibilities


• Develop and execute a comprehensive mid-market growth strategy: Identify key segments, opportunities, and potential partners within the mid-market space.
• Build and nurture strong client relationships: Engage directly with mid-market customers and intermediaries to understand their needs, strengthen partnerships, and identify growth opportunities.
• Lead new business development initiatives: Proactively identify, pursue, and secure new business, working closely with underwriting and product teams to offer tailored solutions.
• Support retention and expansion: Work with existing customers to renew and expand Zurich’s offerings, ensuring a strong pipeline and sustainable growth.
• Market intelligence: Stay ahead of trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes that may impact the mid-market segment, sharing insights with the broader team.
• Collaboration across functions: Work closely with distribution, underwriting, claims, and marketing teams to deliver seamless, customer-focused solutions.
• Drive engagement and visibility: Represent Zurich at industry events, forums, and networking opportunities to enhance our profile and foster new connections.
• Monitor performance and report outcomes: Maintain relevant dashboards and provide regular updates to internal stakeholders, ensuring transparency and data-driven decision making.


Qualifications, Skills & Experience


• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent), ideally with significant experience in the insurance industry.
• Proven track record in business development or sales roles in the Commercial Insurance sector, preferably within the mid-market commercial insurance sector.
• Strong understanding of mid-market customer needs, insurance products, and distribution channels in Singapore.
• Excellent relationship management, negotiation, and influencing skills, with an ability to engage stakeholders at multiple levels.
• Strategic, growth-oriented mindset, coupled with a hands-on approach to delivery and execution.
• Superior communication and collaboration skills; able to navigate ambiguity and drive positive change.
• Experience working in an international, multicultural environment is an advantage.
