Position Overview
You will be part of the Zurich Singapore’s Risk Management team, reporting to the Head of Risk. This is a role for a risk management professional who is keen to work in a first-tier Global Insurer with comprehensive risk management frameworks and methodologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Enterprise Risk Management: Own and manage Zurich’s Internal Controls Integrated Framework (ICIF) across business functions. Risks and controls are owned by the 1st line teams; this role is to provide 2nd line review in line with the requirements set out within ICIF.
- System Management: Manage the data (processes, risks and controls) set up within the ICIF system (Polaris) to ensure consistency with Group’s ERM framework and requirements.
- Polaris Champion: Act as the main contact on questions related to the Polaris system and advise 1st and 2nd line users. Promote new analytics, automation, and AI in Zurich Polaris when it is rollout by Group. Support on the system is provided at the Group level.
- Risk Identification and Assessment: Identify process and control gaps based on review of the quarterly attestation by 1st line teams and other assurance assessments.
- Risk Review: Effective review and challenge to 1st line teams’ actions and proposal as appropriate.
- Risk Reporting: Clear and timely reporting of all risk issues to management.
- Risk and Control Committee: Support the Singapore Head of Risk as the secretary of the committee.
- Stakeholder Communication: Effective communication with all stakeholders across different functions within Zurich Singapore as well as with Regional and Group teams.
- Stakeholders Engagement: Supports engagement with process and control owners to ensure that risk management activities are being completed on a timely basis.
- Risk Training: Provide training and briefing to Zurich Singapore teams as required on projects and initiatives in assigned areas to promote a robust risk culture.
Qualifications, Experience and Skills:
We are looking for a responsible, methodical and detail-oriented person who has:
- At least 6 - 8 years' experience in risk management at major insurers or financial institutions.
- Academic degree in accounting, insurance, engineering, business or relevant subjects.
- Experience in operational risk, audit or internal controls.
- Experience in working with sophisticated and comprehensive enterprise risk management frameworks and implementing them at the local business unit level.
- Ability to work well under pressure and produce rigorous work.
- Hands-on attitude and able to manage tasks end-to-end to ensure quality delivery.
- Strong analytical, as well as excellent communication and relationship management skills.
