Total Rewards Business Partner
About the Role:
As the Total Rewards Business Partner for Singapore, you will be accountable for the end‑to‑end governance, administration, and delivery of compensation, benefits, equity, and performance management programmes. This role serves as the local subject matter expert for all compensation, benefits, and performance management matters in our organization.
You will spearhead both strategic and hands-on execution of Total Rewards programs from managing competitive pay structures and benefits offerings (including wellness and recognition programs) to leading the performance management cycle and supporting workforce planning and budgeting. This role partners closely with HR and business leaders to ensure our reward practices are market-competitive, compliant with regulations, and aligned with global frameworks and business goals. It is a senior individual contributor position with significant influence and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
Compensation & Market Benchmarking:
- Manage and maintain Singapore compensation framework, including job grading, salary & incentive structures, and regular market benchmarking.
- Participate in and coordinate submission to compensation and benefits surveys, job evaluations, and benchmarking exercises to ensure internal and external equity Lead the annual compensation review cycle (merit increases, bonuses, promotions), ensuring alignment with global guidelines and budget constraints.
- Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to HR and business stakeholders to support compensation decisions.
- Oversee the preparation and delivery of employee reward statements.
Benefits, Wellness & Recognition:
- Design, lead and administer end-to-end employee benefits and well-being programs for Singapore covering core benefits (medical, insurance, retirement) as well as wellness, leave, and employee recognition initiatives.
- Working closely with the brokers, insurers, and vendors to manage policy renewals, contracts and ensure high-quality, cost-effective service. Continuously ensure our benefits remain competitive by benchmarking against industry peers (insurance/financial services) and leveraging market data.
- Oversee WIC policy renewals and manage related claims administration and vendor coordination.
- Plan and deliver employee wellness initiatives for Singapore, including coordination of health and wellbeing programmes.
- Manage vendor relationships across WIC, EAP, wellness, and employee recognition platforms, ensuring effective programme administration, service quality, and alignment with internal governance requirements
- Oversee benefits compliance, cost control, annual plan renewals, and ongoing program improvements to meet employee needs and budget goals.
Performance & Rewards Management:
- Lead and support end‑to‑end performance management and Year‑End Review processes for Singapore, including objective setting to mid-year review, year-end appraisals and performance reviews, alignment of performance ensuring consistency and fairness in evaluations with clear linkage between performance and reward outcomes. Provide analytical and advisory support during annual performance cycle.
- Support the execution of annual compensation and incentive review exercises, ensuring fairness, transparency, and alignment with business priorities and remuneration guidelines.
Equity Administration
- Manage equity administration, including governance of the external equity administration platform, submission processes, reporting, and ongoing coordination with Regional and Group stakeholders.
- Support equity‑related tax reporting, partnering with appointed tax vendors and advisors to ensure compliance with local tax regulations.
Strategic workforce planning:
- Partner with HRBP and Finance on strategic workforce planning and people cost planning, including headcount planning, compensation budgeting, cost forecasting to support informed reward decisions that align with business needs and financial targets.
Policies, Governance & Advisory:
- Ensure robust rewards governance and compliance with Singapore employment regulations, internal governance standards, and Group Total Rewards policies across all reward programmes.
- Serve as the Total Rewards subject matter expert, advising HRBP and senior leaders on complex compensation, benefits and equity decisions and rewards-related policy matters not limiting to policy interpretations, and best practices.
- Lead or contribute to key Total Rewards projects (e.g. new program roll-outs, system enhancements) and drive continuous improvement in our reward and performance processes.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Success in this role requires effective collaboration with a range of stakeholders. You will need to collaborate closely with HR Business Partners and business leaders in Singapore to provide Total Rewards advisory and delivery support. Partner with Finance on compensation budgeting, forecasting, and people cost governance. Coordinate with Regional and Group Total Rewards teams to ensure local reward practices are aligned with global frameworks and standards. Manage relationships with external benefits providers and survey vendors. Build trusted advisor relationships to support effective reward outcomes, strong governance, and employee confidence in Total Rewards programmes.
Requirements & Experience:
- Minimum 7 years of experience preferably from insurance industry with a strong focus on Total Rewards or Compensation & Benefits. Proven track record in managing compensation cycles, benefits administration, and performance management processes.
- Strong knowledge of Singapore compensation, benefits, and equity regulations and market practices, with experience using market and benchmarking data to make reward decisions.
- Strong analytical capability with proficiency in Excel and HR systems for data analysis, salary modeling and budgeting. Able to interpret market data and make data-driven recommendations.
- Proven stakeholder management and excellent communication skills, with the ability to advise and influence senior leaders and manage confidential information effectively.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field.
