Underwriter Construction

We are now looking for an analytical, customer focused, market driven and positive person to join our Underwriting team in Stockholm as Market Facing Underwriter within Construction/Engineering Lines.

As an underwriter, you will build up and be responsible for your own portfolio of domestic and international customers with assignments such as premium setting, wording analysis, quotations, negotiations and measuring exposure and analyzing risk and interacting with risk engineers and actuaries.

You will underwrite complex new and renewal business and will build relationships in support of customer/business acquisition and retention. You will also proactively contribute ideas and work for the development of new or enhanced propositions based on technical, customer and distributor insights. As well as proactively seeking new business opportunities.

You will be part of the Nordic Engineering Lines Team across our four offices in the Nordic. In Sweden you will work closely together with our Senior Property Underwriters and the Danish Team consisting of Risk Engineering, Claims, Underwriting Service Specialist and the Head of Sales and Distribution.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience within Engineering Lines/Construction for larger commercial customers
• Preferably an academic degree within engineering, law, business or equivalent field
• Experience within not only CAR/EAR insurance but also Property insurance is seen as an advantage
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Swedish are required

Skills and competencies:

• Ability to deliver excellent customer service
• Strong data processing skills and analytical skills
• Technical background and knowledge along the underwriting core processes
• Knowledge of risk analysis and selection, risk exposures and quality of risk, pricing principles for new and renewal business
• Good negotiation skills and market facing, sales oriented
• Good presentation skills and a solutions and service orientation
• High level of risk- and business awareness

You are a fast learner, agile and flexible. You like working independently but with good abilities to co-operate with both customers, brokers, and colleagues.
