Our apprenticeship programme runs for 18 months which is just the start of your professional journey with Zurich. The areas covered by this scheme include: 

  • Identifying, investigating, assessing and managing a variety of financial crime risks (sanctions, bribery, corruptions, market abuse, money laundering, tax evasion and terrorist financing).
  • Developing Financial Crime control environments in response to risk and regulation. 
  • Developing data protection frameworks.
  • Assisting with the provision of data protection advice and guidance.
  • Developing and implementing data protection policies and requirements.

The Financial Crime Team is part of the UK Compliance department and is responsible for providing expert advice and guidance to all parts of the UK business to help identify, mitigate and manage all types of financial crime risk. The Team advises on and investigates potential exposures to all types of fraud, trade and economic sanctions, bribery, corruption, money laundering and market abuse.  

 

As an apprentice in the Team, you will get a chance to be involved in a wide variety of activities including completing due diligence checks on customers, suppliers and other third parties, as well as supporting fraud and other financial crime investigations.  
 
You will also have the opportunity to be involved in key activities, helping to collate key reports, management information and completing assurance activities to evidence that key controls are operating effectively. 

 

You will get the opportunity to learn investigatory, analysis and research skills, identifying issues that could expose Zurich to any form of financial crime, as well as how to communicate in a professional environment through discussion, presentation, and written reports.  Relationship building with key stakeholders underpins the success of the team and you will be supported to build professional relationships with key business personnel.   

 

The role will be interesting, intellectually challenging and will give you the chance to gain wide ranging experience working as part of a global business to ensure that it meets all of our legal and regulatory requirements by helping to manage the exposure to all types of financial crime. 

 

As part of the Data Protection Team, you will support the business with understanding and adhering to data protection requirements.  Data Privacy is an exciting field that’s attracting plenty of attention in the media. It’s an attractive career path that offers challenges and opportunities to implement meaningful changes, as well as plenty of potential for career progression.  As part of your role, you will help to maintain and develop the Data Protection Frameworks being operated by the business to meet our GDPR requirements and to embed regulatory discipline and support on the design of appropriate controls and monitoring.

What you’ll need: 

  • A minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade C/4, including Maths and English 

  • Commitment to study an apprenticeship qualification 

  • A professional attitude with a positive ‘can do’ approach to your work  

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills  

  • The ability to work in a team and build strong working relationships
