The Opportunity
Are you looking for a caring, collaborative, values-driven workplace with inspiring teammates and leaders? Do you have the ambition to thrive at one of the world’s leading global insurance providers? Look no further than Zurich Canada.
Zurich Canada is building our enterprise learning function for the future. This new role, Assistant Vice President, Enterprise Learning & Development, will establish the strategy, operating model, and standards for how learning is delivered across the organization, aligned to Zurich’s global frameworks and designed for Canada’s local needs.
If you are a strategic learning leader with strong business acumen and a builder’s mindset, able to translate enterprise priorities into scalable, measurable capability solutions and modernize learning through data and responsible AI-enabled practices—we would love to hear from you.
In this role, you will lead our enterprise learning agenda and service delivery model, setting clear operating principles and performance standards. You will partner closely with business leaders, HR Business Partners, and HR Centers of Expertise on high-profile change and capability initiatives, ensuring alignment to global models while delivering locally relevant outcomes.
This is a people leader role. Reporting to the Vice President, Talent & Culture, you will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight across enterprise learning strategy, governance, solution design, delivery quality, vendor partnerships, learning technology enablement, and measurement, helping Zurich Canada build critical capabilities and accelerate performance.
This is a unique opportunity to shape enterprise learning in a supportive environment where your voice matters. This posting is for an existing vacancy.
Zurich Canada uses artificial intelligence–enabled tools to support certain aspects of the recruitment process, including the initial review and screening of applications. Artificial intelligence is not the sole basis for candidate shortlisting or selection. All hiring decisions are reviewed and made by qualified hiring professionals.

What you will do:
• Lead and develop a high-performing team of learning professionals
• Serve as a strategic learning partner and SME to senior leaders, HRBPs, and HR CoEs
• Set the enterprise learning strategy and roadmap aligned to business priorities and Zurich’s global learning models

• Apply performance consulting to diagnose needs and design learning and non-learning interventions that address root causes
• Establish enterprise design and delivery standards (templates, QA, accessibility, consistent learner experience)
• Define measurement and reporting to evaluate adoption and outcomes, and use insights to continuously improve and guide investment decisions
• Own budgets, forecasting, and resource allocation with strong financial discipline
• Manage strategic vendor/partner relationships and strengthen Zurich’s external learning ecosystem
• Modernize learning through industry trends and innovative, scalable practices (blended, digital, learning in the flow of work)
• Represent Canada in global learning forums and align with international counterparts
• Provide oversight of learning technologies (LMS/LXP and digital tools), including governance, user experience, analytics, and adoption
• Establish responsible AI use in learning, including defining priority use cases and setting governance, guardrails, and content/taxonomy standards aligned to Zurich expectations
What you bring to the table:

Preferred:
• Experience managing learning budgets, forecasting, and vendor ecosystems (including vendor selection and performance management)
