Claims Controller


Job Summary

The Claims Controller will have responsibility over Claims performance management analysis and reporting, as well as the execution of assigned projects to support strategic initiatives and operational planning. This role requires an analytical thinker with strong business acumen. Oversees the development, production and coordination of management information data necessary for decision making within the Claims area. Analyzes data, formulates hypothesis and facilitates metrics-based decisions. Articulates the Claims contribution to the yearly planning cycle, and coordinates the preparation of presentations to Local, Regional and Global Executives.

Job Qualifications


  • Bachelors Degree and 4 or more years of related experience


  • Bachelors Degree and 2 or more years of experience in the Strategic and Operational Consulting area
  • Strong spreadsheet/database skills, advanced Microsoft office skills, including VBA programing
  • Knowledge of SQL Database
  • Exposure/experience in actuarial sciences
  • Commercial Property and Casualty insurance experience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment with minimal supervision

Job Accountabilities - Key Accountabilities

•    Build data models and deliver detailed, complex analysis (including statistical analysis) to support decision making among Claims Management Team
•    Develops Management information tools, analyze its results and formulate proposals for corrective actions
•    Identify gaps in analysis and additional analysis that should be conducted.
•    Ensure Claims operational controls are executed and followed
•    Monitors / reviews business and/or Center of Expertise progress relative to operational plans.
•    Assists in valuation and measurement of key projects/initiatives.
•    Assists with conducting feasibility review of business and/or Center of Expertise plans and for projects/initiatives.
•    Identifies possible issues/opportunities and assists in developing / scoping solutions.
•    Proposes potential new initiatives or areas for improvement.
•    Assists in executing Operating Reviews.
•    Gathers market information for reporting purposes and disseminates the information to internal audiences.
