What is the opportunity?
We’re seeking experienced Internal Controls specialists for an 18-month contract to support the rollout and integration of Zurich Cover-More’s Internal Control Integrated Framework (ICIF) across new Regional Units and entities. In this role, you’ll help establish strong, well-designed controls in partnership with finance teams and the first line of defense, ensuring processes are clearly documented, tested, and aligned with Zurich Group standards while reflecting local business and regulatory needs.
Working closely with the central Internal Controls team, you’ll help design and implement sustainable frameworks that integrate local requirements, legacy Travel Guard processes, and group-level controls. You’ll collaborate across the first and second lines of defense and multiple business units, translating complex control concepts into practical solutions, fostering consistency across the Zurich Cover-More network, and driving meaningful change in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
What will you be doing?
- You’ll partner with finance and first line teams to understand local processes, assess existing controls, and design regionally tailored ICIF and ICFR controls aligned with Zurich Group standards.
- You’ll document and embed clear, well-structured processes and controls that balance group frameworks with local business and regulatory needs.
- You’ll conduct walkthroughs, testing, and effectiveness reviews to identify gaps, support remediation, and contribute to ICFR and ICIF readiness.
- You’ll provide training, education, and communication to help teams understand and adopt internal control practices in day-to-day operations.
- You’ll collaborate closely with the central Internal Controls team and key stakeholders across Finance, Risk, Compliance, IT, and Operations to ensure consistent implementation and alignment.
- You’ll monitor progress, track milestones, and prepare updates or materials for governance forums and leadership reviews.
What are we looking for?
- Availability to work an 18-month fix-term contract.
- You’ll hold a Bachelor’s degree with 5-8 years’ experience in internal controls, risk, or audit within a regulated or global insurance/financial services organization.
- You’ll have proven expertise in designing and implementing internal control frameworks (e.g., COSO, SOX, ICFR, ICIT).
- You’ll have experience conducting process walkthroughs, documentation, control design, and testing
- You’ll demonstrate strong stakeholder engagement skills and experience partnering with senior management.
- You’ll possess excellent analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex concepts.
- You’ll bring a proactive, collaborative approach and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- You’ll have advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), and be comfortable navigating GRC tools.
- You’ll hold a professional certification such as CPA, CIA, or CISA, and bring prior experience from a Big Four or global financial services environment (preferred).

The salary range for this role is CAD $71,600 - $117,300. This is the range Zurich Cover-More in good faith believes is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of the posting. Base pay offered may vary depending on, but not limited to education, experience, skills, geographic location, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business needs. This range may be modified in the future. No amount is considered to be wages or compensation until such amount is earned, vested, and determinable.
